As the saying goes, it is never enough to do something; you have to do it right. This is quite true of meditation. However, the perception of proper meditation is sometimes pigeonholed into merely the physical meditation posture(s). While posture is important, so is the environment that one opts to meditate. Thankfully, most environments selecting for meditating are quite beneficial to proper meditation. However, there are ways to take a decent environment and improve upon it even further.
So, here are a few tips for making the most out of your meditation environment.
Maintaining a quiet environment is a must. This is because any unwanted noise can disrupt the placidity needed to effectively meditate. Now, this does not mean you are expected to control any noise outside. There will always be background noise outside of your control. However, whatever noise level that is in your control must be properly managed. This will maximize the benefit of your meditation session greatly.
Also, quiet does not necessarily mean absolute silence. Some individuals find absolute silence a difficult environment to endure. So, it is perfectly acceptable to play mood/meditation music. However, you definitely do not want the TV turned on to the news or a sports channel as they will be loaded with one distraction after the other.
Proper lighting is a must for meditation. It would be quite difficult to meditate in a room with extremely bright light as it would not be conducive to a calming environment. A room that is too dark is a bit closer to “creepy” than introspective. Natural day lighting is usually sufficient. At night, a lighting that is not too bright would be best. Candles can be added to both environments for significant positive effect.
Selecting the right meditation “prop” is important as well. That is, if you wish to perform you meditation in a lotus position, a comfortable pillow would be helpful. Similarly, if you are meditating seated or lying down, a comfortable chair or bed/couch/mat is needed as well. Any old item, however, will not do. For example, if you are six feet tall and meditate cramped up in a small loveseat couch, you will not get the best out of your experience.
Selecting the right environment or modifying the one you have access to will work wonders for improving your meditation sessions. Following these few simple tips will, hopefully, aid in this regard.

Ya its really important think to consider. What ever thing we are going to do we must do it perfectly so that we can get the benefits of it. Likewise while doing Meditation we must sit in a proper position with our spinal cord in a straight position and also the place we choose for meditation must also be a quite one so that we can bring up our mind with our control as soon as possible. If the place we choose is full of noisy then it will distrub our mind.
